On Wednesday, April 16, the Resident Events Committee sponsored the much-anticipated Tournament of Champions. The event brought out six teams of three prior jigsaw puzzle competition winners. The stakes were raised for this very talented and highly focused group. Instead of the usual 500-piece puzzle, the champions had to complete a 750-piece puzzle in three hours or less. All teams had the same puzzle. Only one team finished before the deadline with an amazing time of 2 hours and 32 minutes. That team, consisting of Stephanie Meirhoffer, Maryann Simpson and Karen Katz, took first place and bragging rights for this coveted title.

The second and third place teams were determined by judges counting all unattached pieces when the time limit was reached. Second place went to Lori Chernow, Allan Payne and Kathy Lynch. In third place were Sue Savage, Bea Bove and Deb Kiniry. Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to all the players, subs and judges who participated in any of the first three competitions and the championship! It was a great year of good-natured fun and competition
