The HG Singles celebrated their third anniversary on Wednesday, April 9 with a lively picnic. Forty-one members gathered at Ponce de Leon Park in Punta Gorda for barbecue, games, and fellowship. Carol Bryan and Bob Agate planned and organized the event. Grill masters Bob Agate and Wayne Heard cooked hamburgers, hot dogs, and steaks to perfection. Members provided appetizers, sides, and desserts. Rita Lehman brought the beautifully decorated cake that read “Celebrating Good Friends.”
Sandra Flanagan coached and organized a fun cornhole competition, which provided good-natured laughs. The evening concluded with a gentle breeze which kept the bugs away, a stunning sunset, and a group sing-along using the old Girl Scout words to Taps (Day is done…).
The HG Singles is open to all single residents of Herons Glen.
