MIKE STROPES, DAN ALTER, PAUL LOWE, TOM FOSTER, DON LYNCH, AND DICK MULLER
On Friday, April 4, Herons Glen residents were treated to a FREE ballroom concert featuring popular songs from various genres. The concert was performed by six talented musicians that also live in the community. The concert raised $780 from audience donations for the Veterans of the Glen.
The musicians included Dick Muller – mandolin, Don Lynch – acoustic guitar/vocals, Tom Foster – acoustic guitar/vocals, Paul Lowe – electric guitar/vocals, Dan Alter – vocals/percussion, and Mike Stropes – acoustic guitar.
Paul Lowe and Tom Foster deserve special recognition as the group relied heavily on their equipment and professional contributions. They were a significant key in making the concert a reality and ensuring its success. The group performed 21 songs that included America the Beautiful in which the audience stood and sung along, pictured below. This was the inaugural event and per Don Lynch, the group’s organizer and spokesperson, a similar event is being planned for next season. There will be a callout for musicians interested in taking part in the next Musicians’ Showcase.
