HOA Volunteers Needed!

Volunteers are vital to the Community’s success. Both full-time and part-time residents can volunteer. Committee members serve one-year terms from October 1 to September 30.

New terms for HOA Volunteers begin October 1, 2026. The HOA Board approves the new term volunteers at their September Board Meeting. If you are interested in serving on an HOA Committee, please complete a volunteer form as soon as possible.

Activities Committee: This committee is responsible for organizing special events within the Herons Glen Community. It does not oversee any activities related to HGRD Amenities. Examples of events organized by this committee include paper shredding, Christmas decorations at the Herons Glen entrance, the Christmas cart parade, educational activity events. The new resident welcoming sub-committee and Bingo are included under the umbrella of the Activities Committee.

Architectural Review Committee (ARC): The ARC meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday each month. This committee reviews resident applications for exterior changes to homes, such as painting, shutters, lanai extensions, or pool additions, and ensures compliance with the Design and Development Guidelines & policies. Members must commit extra time beyond meeting attendance.

Communications Committee: This committee is charged with keeping up with all the latest HOA information and creating improvements in communications to residents. The HOA News Bulletin, the Community TV Channels, the HOA Website, and The Heron Online Magazine and editorial staff volunteers operate under this umbrella.

Compliance Committee: This committee meets monthly as required. When the board approves fines for violations of deed restrictions, a compliance hearing is scheduled and conducted by the Compliance Committee. Upon the conclusion of the hearing, the committee proceeds with a vote to either confirm or reject the issuance of the fine.

Finance Committee: The Finance Committee convenes on the fourth Thursday of every month. They review the monthly HOA financial statements. The committee evaluates and recommends proposals for contract services and helps prepare the annual budget. Meetings are not held in August.

Grievance Committee: This committee convenes on an as-needed basis. Upon request by the board, it reviews and investigates complaints arising from non-compliance with the Covenants and provides recommendations to the board. If formal charges are substantiated, a letter of complaint will be drafted and submitted to the Board of Directors.

Grounds Committee: The Grounds Committee meets on the second Thursday of the month. They review resident applications for the removal and replacement of landscaping, trees, fountains, and flag poles. They also monitor compliance with the Community-Wide Landscape Standards and related policies. No meetings are held in August. Members must be willing to commit additional time beyond meeting attendance.

Legal Advisory & Bylaws Committee: This committee convenes upon request by the board. If needed the committee provides recommendations or assistance with the publication of rules and regulations, bylaws, declarations, and any matters the board requires research on.

Security, Safety and Emergency Preparedness Committee (SSEP): organizes seasonal programs and seminars on community safety and security. It oversees the Cert Team subcommittee. Members must attend all SSEP events. The committee meets on the 4th Friday of each month during the season.
