There are numerous amenities and activities at Herons Glen for residents to participate in and enjoy. One activity in the Glen that many may not be aware of is men’s slow-pitch softball. Herons Glen has had 3 teams over the years – Herons Glen Eagles (1999 – Current), Herons Glen Gators (2002 – 2010) and Herons Glen Rookies (2023 – 2024). Currently, Herons Glen only has one team – the Herons Glen Eagles.
Since 1999, the three Herons Glen teams have amassed the following records:
• Herons Glen Eagles: 360 Wins; 137 Losses; 2 Ties
• Herons Glen Gators: Records not available
• Herons Glen Rookies: 18 Wins; 19 Losses
Records for the three teams by year are summarized in the chart below. The Herons Glen Eagles have had seven 1st place, six 2nd Place and one 3rd Place finish. All three teams have been very successful over the years not only in softball but in making new friendships as well.
The softball teams have always participated in the Mark and Mary Ford Softball League.
